*buzzing IN POP-CULTURE WEEK 23
What happened in pop-culture this week: Tyler is everywhere, Levi's is on a streak, Loewe stuns again, Gustaf Westman teases another collab, and Demna caps off Balenciaga with one final surprise.
*buzzing: TYLER FOR BOTTEGA…
This past week, Bottega Veneta dropped a striking new black-and-white campaign starring none other than Tyler, The Creator in full iconic looks. Matthieu Blazy, just before heading to Chanel, signed off with one last mastermind move: the campaign also features pgLang’s Dave Free (aka the genius behind most Kendrick visuals), who not only directed and shot it, but also appears holding a black Bottega leather bag.
…AND CONVERSE!
Tyler isn’t just the new face of Bottega, he’s also a longtime Converse collaborator. With his brand Golf Le Fleur, he’s dropped several collections, and the next one’s just been announced: a revival of the 1908 Jogger. Pulled from the archive, it fits the current mood perfectly (think Miu Miu Plume vibes). The collab drops June 20, and you’ll find me on Converse’s site at 16:00 sharp, aiming for the blue pair.
*buzzing IN FASHION: DEMNA LEAVES BALENCIAGA WITH A COLLAB MASTERPIECE
Balenciaga X Britney Spears wasn’t on anyone’s 2025 bingo card, but it’s here, and it’s wholesome. As part of Demna’s final collection for the house, it brings together his greatest hits with a surprise drop of Britney merch and, most notably, an EP of remixed classics by house musician (and Demna’s partner) BFRND who’s known for his runway soundtracks for all of Demna’s Balenciaga shows. It’s a weird, personal, nostalgic farewell - and honestly, I love it. Now the real question is: is Gucci ready for Demna?
*buzzing ANNOUNCEMENT: GUSTAF WESTMAN FOR IKEA
It all makes sense, yet I was still a little surprised when Gustaf Westman casually announced his IKEA collab on Instagram. Fresh off his Mercedes-Benz moment, this is definitely the next big thing for the Swedish designer. The collection, set to drop in autumn 2025, already has people speculating: a blue foam roller? A rolling pin? The comment section is going wild.
*buzzing BRAND: LEVI’S TAKEOVER
From Beyoncé to Denim Tears to Sacai, Levi’s has been doing some great stuff over the past few months – and now they’re adding another layer: they just announced a Nike collab and their own mini festival within this weekend’s Primavera Festival in Barcelona. With its stacked line-up, magical scenery, and buzzing brand activations, Primavera has long become the European Coachella. This year’s line-up feels especially iconic, headlined by the “Powerpuff Girls” trio: Charli XCX (with Troye Sivan), Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter – plus acts like LCD Soundsystem, FKA Twigs, and Aminé. And Levi’s are hosting their own little world right in the middle of it.
*buzzing CAMPAIGN: VENMO TAPS WHITE LOTUS CAST FOR NEW AD
PayPal’s Venmo just dropped a super cute new campaign starring Aimee Lou Wood and Patrick Schwarzenegger on a full-on Venmo shopping spree, proving the app isn’t just for splitting brunch, but for basically everything. The two, who are also real-life friends, co-created a content series alongside the film, and honestly? It’s giving fun, fresh, and actually authentic.
*buzzing COLLAB: TEKLA X STÜSSY
Finally a reason to splurge on Tekla sheets: the brand just announced its new collab with Stüssy, featuring bed linen in soft checks, floral prints, and natural tones that channel full cabin-in-the-woods energy. It's the cozy-meets-cool crossover I didn’t know I needed, and maybe now I’ll actually drop 300 euros on a fitted sheet. The collection drops today.
