*buzzing IN POP-CULTURE WEEK 41
What happened in pop-culture this week: McDonald’s creates buzz, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty teams up with Diesel, Burberry drops a stunning new campaign, and Moncler announces their 'City of Genius'.
*buzzing BRAND: MCDONALD’S X SUCUK & BRATWURST “BISSCHEN SCHARF”
McDonald’s teamed up with design-ultras Sucuk & Bratwurst to drop not just a new menu but also a collab collection with Highsnobiety. The menu, called 'Bisschen Scharf,' plays off the way people order Döner in Germany with the phrase 'bisschen scharf' (a little spicy). Naturally, it comes with Ayran on the side. But that’s not all—there’s also matching merch, including a cap, T-shirt, and hoodie featuring the 'Bisschen Scharf' branding, complete with chicken nuggets dipping into Ayran. Can’t you already picture Berliners rocking that cap? (I may or may not have ordered it the second I saw it, lol).
*buzzing COLLAB: SAVAGE X FENTY GET TOGETHER WITH DIESEL FOR FIRST EVER COLLAB
Rihanna's lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty, launched its first ever product collaboration this week—with none other than Diesel. After designer Glenn Martens transformed Diesel from a Y2K label into a champion of sex positivity and hyperfemininity over the past few years, this collaboration is a natural progression. It positions Diesel as a forward-thinking brand, moving beyond its roots as merely a nostalgic statement piece and becoming more future than past.
*buzzing IN FASHION A VERY CRYSTAL WEEK! WITH SWAROVSKI X COPERNI AND BACARAT X HELLO KITTY
This week brought not just one, but two collaborations putting crystal glass in the spotlight. First up, Coperni teamed up with Swarovski to unveil their iconic 'Swipe Bag' made entirely of Swarovski glass. It’s a clever follow-up to their recent Disney collab, subtly nodding to Cinderella’s iconic glass slipper.
The other collab? None other than Baccarat and Hello Kitty. A weird combo? Yeah, kinda... but still, a cute one for Hello Kitty fans everywhere, celebrating her 50th birthday. (And yes, in case you didn’t know—Hello Kitty is a girl, not a cat!)
*buzzing CAMPAIGN: “IT’S ALWAYS BURBERRY WHETHER
Burberry dropped a new campaign this week, spotlighting seven of their most iconic outdoor pieces—everything from the trench coat to the aviator jacket—alongside seven pop-culture icons. The lineup features Barry Keoghan, Zhang Jingyi, Cara Delevingne, Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze, Little Simz, and Olivia Colman. Set against the backdrop of London and the British countryside, the campaign tells charming stories through seven short films that capture Burberry’s diverse yet unmistakably British spirit. My personal favorite? 'The Parka' with Little Simz and her nephew Kiki, rapping on a train.
*buzzing IN FASHION: SAMUEL ROSS TEASES ZARA COLLECTION FOR EARLY 2025
A few months after selling his stake in A-Cold-Wall, founder Samuel Ross announced a multi-year partnership with Zara. This collaboration, which quietly launched in September with a made-to-order model, will bring Ross’s vision to a wider audience. Under the label 'SR_A Engineered by Zara,' the partnership will feature bi-annual menswear collections.
*buzzing CAMPAIGN: DYSON TAPS RAYE FOR HEADPHONE CAMPAIGN
Dyson, known for its vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, and hair styling tools, is now venturing into headphones. And for the campaign, they've brought on none other than RAYE, creating a stunning collaboration with the South London OG.
*buzzing EVENT: MONCLER ANNOUNCED “CITY OF GENIUS” IN SHANGHAI
Following the previous event in London, the next Moncler Genius showcase is set for October 19th in Shanghai. Big names like Asap Rocky, Nigo, Rick Owens, Jil Sander, and Edward Enninful will be in attendance. The event will bring several collections from Moncler’s Genius program to life once again, with an immersive experience designed to showcase the fashion in a whole new way.
