*buzzing IN POP-CULTURE WEEK 5
What happened in pop-culture this week: Rimowa teams up with Rick Owens, MAC drops a stunning campaign, Charli XCX and Martha Stewart link with Uber Eats, and Paris Fashion Week is in full swing!
*buzzing CAMPAIGN: MAC’S ‘I ONLY WEAR MAC’
MAC Cosmetics got Martha Stewart, Julia Fox, Beabadoobee, Tiffany Pollard, and OBJ to strip down and “only wear MAC” for their new campaign. The visuals—like Julia Fox naked in the subway and Martha Stewart in her kitchen—are bold, but the real highlight? The content they spun from it. Martha Stewart doing ASMR while snacking on strawberries is the weird, genius content I never knew I needed.
*buzzing COLLAB: RICK OWENS FOR RIMOWA
Rimowa has once again shown incredible instinct, securing a new collab with none other than Rick Owens for early 2025. The designer transformed the Cabin Trolley into a bronze sculpture with a matte finish and an interior reminiscent of black leather gloves. But it’s not just the trolley that stands out—the presentation does too. Rick Owens showcases the piece alongside his wife and muse, Michèle Lamy.
*buzzing CONTENT: CHARLI XCX & MARTHA STEWART LISTEN & DON’T JUDGE FOR UBEREATS
Hardly any brand keeps up with the pace at which Uber Eats collaborates with celebrities in the US—and now, the next big move is here! Charli XCX and Martha Stewar. spill their unfiltered thoughts on each other while playing ‘We Listen and We Don’t Judge,’ and while Martha Stewart shares behind-the-scenes stories with Jimmy Fallon. It’s worth a watch—and just the warm-up for what’s coming at the Super Bowl next week. Stay tuned 💚
*buzzing IN FASHION: HIGHLIGHTS OF PARIS FASHION WEEK
Paris Fashion Week is still in full swing—after menswear, it’s now time for the Haute Couture shows. And some brands have once again stolen the spotlight. Schiaparelli sent models, including Kendall Jenner, down the runway in stunning pearl- and feather-embellished corsets, extravagant gowns, and intricate designs.
KidSuper once again delivered over the weekend with the men’s collection “From A Place I Have Never Been.” Alongside his own designs, Colm Dillane also unveiled the Bape collab “A Super Ape.” What a match!
*buzzing BRAND: WILLY CHAVEIRA
Have you heard of Willy Chavarria? I’m pretty sure a lot of people are hearing that name for the first time this week because it’s been everywhere. Willy Chavarria not only put on an incredible fashion show in Paris, but it also marked the announcement of his Adidas collab. On top of that, he teamed up with Kendrick Lamar and his studio pgLang to create a merch capsule for his Super Bowl halftime show next week. All proceeds from the collection will go to a fund supporting LA communities affected by the wildfires earlier this month.
*buzzing NEWS: GLENN MARTENS APPOINTED CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF MAISON MARGIELA
Frequent readers might have noticed that I’m a bit of a Glenn Martens stan. After weeks of rumors, he was finally announced as the new creative director of Margiela, taking over from John Galliano—and honestly, I’m speechless. My first luxury bag was a Margiela, so I couldn’t be more excited for this! What’s still unclear, though, is Diesel’s future. Can the brand survive after its Glenn Martens-led comeback in the early 2020s?
